Join us on a journey through the timeless beauty of classical Arabic music. From Andalusian muwashshahat and Aleppine Qudud to Egyptian classics, the programme traces the rich musical heritage of the region. Along the way, we will also perform rare gems (nawadir) from the repertoires of Fairouz and Umm Kulthum, beautiful works that are seldom heard today. Through these glimpses into the classical tradition, we hope to transport audiences to a place of beauty, nostalgia, and wonder. Delivered in partnership with Creatives of Colour.
This event is part of the Funoun Scotland Festival by MARSM UK, 2–4 October 2026. A three-day multidisciplinary arts festival celebrating contemporary Arab and SWANA creativity across visual art, music, sound, dance, drag performance, and film, the programme places Arab and SWANA artists in dialogue with Scottish audiences.
