Joachim Cooder brings his singular musical world to Cottiers Theatre for a winter evening that blurs the boundaries between folk, roots, world music and sonic exploration. Known for crafting performances that seem to drift effortlessly through rhythm and melody, Cooder creates an atmosphere where percussion, strings and voice combine into something richly textured and deeply absorbing. Audiences can expect music that feels spacious and alive, moving from hypnotic grooves to intimate, reflective passages with a natural sense of flow. Drawing on a lifetime immersed in global musical traditions and collaborations that span American roots, blues and international sounds, he shapes each performance with curiosity, warmth and a quietly adventurous spirit.
In the intimate surroundings of Cottiers Theatre, this Celtic Connections concert offers a rare chance to experience one of contemporary music’s most distinctive voices up close, providing the perfect refuge from a January night in Glasgow.
