The Glasgow Americana Festival has been running for 20 years, and we’re delighted to help them celebrate this milestone.
Promoted by The Fallen Angels Club, the festival has become a much‑loved October highlight for concert‑goers from near and far.
This special Songwriters in the Round show brings together three festival favourites: Scottish singer‑songwriter Kristen Adamson, English songwriter Peter Bruntnell, and Scottish‑based Canadian artist Sarah Jane Scouten.
Award-winning singer/songwriter Kirsten Adamson (daughter of rock legend Stuart Adamson (Big Country, Skids) summons the same heart stopping purity as Sandy Denny, by way of Emmylou Harris and Kate Bush. Backed by The Tanagers, Adamson brings a warm, expansive band sound to her distinctive blend of heartland Americana, folk and rock.
Rolling Stone once declared British singer-songwriter Peter Bruntnell to be, “one of England’s best kept musical secrets”. England has successfully managed to keep Peter Bruntnell a secret for all this time, even from itself.
Sarah Jane Scouten is a Canadian-born folk and Americana songwriter, paying respects to 60s and 70s country songwriters Willie Nelson, John Prine, Bobby Gentry. She weaves in British folk revival elements with a continuous thread leading back to her roots in bluegrass and old time music.
